I never eat out alone. Before COVID, we really did not eat out much anyway, except for vacation. This is mostly due to the fact that we live in a smallish town and most of the restaurants here are not good, so why waste the money when I can make something better at home. Pre-COVID, we did enjoy lunch out in another town when we had hair cuts, but that was not the question...The only times that I have had to eat out alone were business trips and then I would usually sit at the bar of a nicer restaurant, instead of a table and bring a book.
