June 1 & 2, 2025
Jun. 2nd, 2025 01:07 pmJUNE:
1. June is named after the Roman Goddess Juno. Do you know the names of any other Roman Gods or Goddesses?
I have always been a bigger fan of Greek mythology, but do know some of the Roman. I always associate their names with the planets: Jupiter, Mars, Venus, Saturn, Mercury...
2. Do you have a favourite alcoholic beverage?
I have a few: I like a dirty, but dry martini, made with Bombay Sapphire, a perfect Manhattan made with rye, and different varieties of wine.
3. It’s World Bicycle Day! Have you ever ridden a tandem bicycle or a tricycle?
4. Have you ever made cheese (if you’d like to give it a try there’s a really easy recipe here)?
5. When you visit somewhere new, do you research anything about the area?
6. Do you have a membership to any local organisations (e.g. gym, museum, art gallery, local group, etc)? How often do you use your membership (and what’s the advantage of having it?)
7. When was the last time you thoroughly dusted and polished your furniture?
8. Have you ever been fishing?
9. Is there something that someone close to you does which really irritates you, but you’ve never said anything to them about it?
10. Have you ever made mayonnaise from scratch?
11. Do you wear a watch?
12. Do you have some table items you only bring out when you entertain guests for dinner?
13. Do you own a corkscrew?
14. When was the last time you sorted through the clothes in your wardrobe/closet? Are there items you really should get rid of?
15. It’s Nature Photography Day – have you recently taken a photo of anything from nature?
16. Do you own a travel adapter socket, a travel hair dryer or a portable mini iron?
17. Have you ever had a massage?
18. Do you like mangos?
19. After the battle of Waterloo in 1815, scavengers looted corpses for their teeth so that dentists could make false teeth for the living. How are your teeth – do you have any fillings, crowns, caps or dentures?
20. When did you last take time just for yourself? What did you do?
21. What is your favourite salad dressing?
22. Have you owned an aquarium or had a pond in your garden/backyard?
23. Where is your favourite holiday destination – have you been more than once?
24. In 1911 French couturier Paul Poiret held his infamous 'The 1002nd Night' costume ball to launch his “Parfums de Rosine", the first signature scent linked to a design house. Have you a favourite scent?
25. It’s Global Beatles Day! What song comes into your head when you think about the Beatles?
26. Do you love the sunshine or prefer to stay in the shade?
27. Do you own any pairs of sandals, or do your feet remain covered in hot weather?
28. Which is your favourite - white gold, yellow gold, rose gold, silver or platinum jewellery?
29. How often do you take photos?
30. “A cold in the head in June is an immoral thing” (L M Montgomery, Canadian author, born 1874). Have you had a cold in the head so far this year?
