27. Is there a good bus service close to where you live? Do you use the bus to get around?

No, I live in a smallish town in the south (US,) and sadly we still have not caught on to the idea of public transportation. Everyone drives everywhere...

We have some public transportation in Detroit/Metro Detroit that I've heard mixed things about in terms of timeliness and such, and from what I've seen on the maps, it doesn't seem to cover enough area, and once you leave the county, which I do for work, you're screwed. You'd think with a big city and a rather large surrounding metro area, we could do better, BUT... historically, because we have the "Big 3" auto companies and we're the Motor City, they want to make sure they get their revenue on cars instead of mobilizing the general public, especially those in lower economic classes who could really use it (and let's face it, even the middle class, plus reducing gas emissions). It's really disappointing. I've used the public transit in Chicago and the Metra for the surrounding area when staying with a friend over a decade ago, and I was so impressed, and was thinking really, if we had something like CTA/Metra, I could REALLY get used to that. I wouldn't mind it. No car and insurance payments, the onus of having to pay attention to the road and deal with scary/reckless drivers would would be off my shoulders, and I'd have so much freed up income to put towards literally anything else. I'm sure there are pros and cons, but after 5 days of trying it on for size, I'm pretty sure I could adapt to the cons of public transit, if it were decent.
