26 – Australia Day: If you are not Australian, have you ever been to Australia? How much do you know about Australia? If you went to school somewhere other than Australia, how much were you taught about Australia in school?

No, I have not been to Australia, but would like to do a long trip in retirement to there and New Zealand. I do not know a great deal, other than from watching cycling. We were taught nothing about Australia in school, other than it was a continent on the other side of the world.

I find it interesting that the US don't teach about Australia - do they teach anything about other countries?

A little about European history, but nothing else, not even our neighbors, Canada and Mexico. This was true at least when i was in school and honestly, I cannot imagine that it has changed much.
