lizzybuffy200815. Have you ever served on jury duty? If so, what was the case about? If not, would you like to be on a jury in the future?
No, I came close once (the last juror picked was the woman before me.) It would have been a murder trial, so I can't say I was terribly disappointed not to be taken. I would not mind doing it in the future, but they tend to pick the worst times to call you.
They weather for the last few days has been perfect (low 50's in the mornings, low to mid 70's in the afternoon with an abundance of sun.) All of the windows are open and I am basking. Sadly that is supposed to end this weekend with temperatures back to the upper 80's. If the humidity is low (fat chance) it could still be pleasant.
I had a bit of comedy of errors yesterday baking. I made ice cream and so have twelve egg whites to use, I am not a fan of angel food cake, so decided to make financiers. Not a hard recipe, just one of those days. Too much egg white glooped into batter, so had to get that out before it soaked in, then had one empty mini muffin hole, was trying to put water into it and it overflowed into some of the other filled holes...Then they stuck to the pan...They taste great, but could be more crispy, so I will try again today and hope for a better outcome.

Date: 2022-09-15 11:56 am (UTC)I have never made financiers, but that's probably because they are quite nutty and I'm not much of a fan of almond flavouring. I tend to make ice cream using condensed milk and cream so no egg yolks, but that's an excellent way to use them up if you have lots left! I'm sure they were nice and as you were only making them for you it doesn't really matter what they look like does it LOL!
