Jun. 18th, 2022 06:48 am18. Do you have a favorite accessory (excluding anything you wear regularly e.g. wedding band, watch, etc.)?
I am very lucky in that my husband has spoiled me over the years with jewelry. I love it all, but have two that are particular favorites: Diamond hoop earrings (where the diamonds go all the way around on both sides) and a channel-set diamond tennis bracelet. I would wear them every day, if I could and yes, I have a fondness for diamonds.
Well, yesterday was a bit tiring...after the weed pulling; we showered and then made a rhubarb-ginger coffee cake and debated on whether I had the energy to make anything too much for dinner. I got a text from the farmer I have a tomato CSA with saying tomatoes had started to come in and he had 5 pounds waiting for me. Once the cake was out of the oven and cooling, we hopped in the car and headed to his farm (in a rain storm.) That changed dinner; I cut and dressed some of the tomatoes in salt, pepper and good EVOO and served them with burrata and some leftover chicken.
We have been watching the CNN documentary series about Watergate (1 more episode to go.) Its very informative, interesting and scarily similar to things that have happened recently and are happening now. One thing, it is centered around John Dean, who they kind of play off as a "hero;" I do not agree. I think that when he realized that he was going to be the scape goat, he went into attack mode before they could attack him. Heroes speak up before the fact and try to stop it when they have knowledge that bad things are going on.
Today will be more relaxed, after my farmer's market and grocery run.
