I am a pretty optimistic person; I have my bad times, like everyone else, but for the most part, remain happy. I hope that does not change. I have watched some people become pessimistic, untrusting, and depressed as they age and I do not want to be like that.
Yesterday was cloudy, sunny, rainy cloudy, sunny...I did manage to pull some weeds, drainage guy came to mark where the pipes will go (hopefully it will dry up enough that they can start today,) cleaned a lot of spinach (lots and lots of greens from my CSA) and made a gratin with it. Also made a savory dutch baby with arugula, prosciutto, and burrata for dinner. It was delicious and quite filling. Watched another Stanley Tucci episode and then bedtime. It was a cool night (50F,) so great sleeping weather.
Today is supposed to be nice and a bit warmer. Will work out in a moment, then breakfast and more weeding. It is CSA pick-up today and also have to run to the library. A recipe mash-up for dinner this evening and hopefully a little packing for our trip on Thursday.

Date: 2022-05-18 09:11 am (UTC)We finally were able to do the kitchen 2 years ago, which was the last of the major indoor projects (fingers crossed,) so it was time to tackle the landscape. We have very poor drainage in our side and back yard area (it will be a swamp for weeks after a big rainstorm.) We decided to re-do/add some hardscape and plantings and address the drainage this year. They are working on the drainage now, so that is the last of it for this year. We still have a big, grassy slope and a wooded area to take care of, but that is for another year.
