Well, we are back from Italy. We actually got back on Thursday, but between both testing positive for COVID, the mountain of laundry and catching up on things, I have been swamped.

We did get the new booster the week it came out, so I am thankful that we are not really sick (K has no symptoms and I feel like I have a head cold.) I actually feel better today and tested negative this morning, so I am hoping that is it.

We had a wonderful time and I hopefully will have more detailed posts in a few days. We learned some things; spending all day in the Newark airport is no fun; no matter how great I feel when I leave, take allergy meds, because I always have issues with itchy eyes and stuffed up nose (even without COVID,) don't go to Europe again without a cell phone plan that definitely works there, and try to do more restaurant research and make reservations before leaving.

We had no real issues, but a couple of nights we had to scramble to get in to a place for dinner and since the extra money I paid to have international roaming ran out in two days, it made it difficult to make a reservation without going by the place or depending on online reservations.

We flew into Milan, took a train to Parma (4 nights,) then Bologna (2 nights,) Ravenna (3 nights,) Ferrara (1 night,) Verona (3 nights,) and back to Milan (1 night.) My favorite place was Ravenna; the mosaics are vibrant and beautiful and its an easy town to get around. It was wonderful to be back in Italy and I think I ate my weight in prosciutto, but with all of the walking did not gain any weight.

More to come...
