February 12-14, 2023
Feb. 14th, 2023 12:07 pm12 – World Marriage Day: In your opinion, is marriage an outdated institution or has it stood the test of time? Should we seek to preserve it, or might there be a better alternative for committed couples?
People are still getting married, so I guess it has. I think (in the US anyway,) it is still easier in some ways and in some places to be married than to live together as partners. I have been happily married for almost 35 years, but do not believe that marriage is for everyone. I really do not know if we would have gotten married if we were not moving into married student housing and thought they would check (they didn't.)
13 – Clean Out Your Computer Day: When was the last time you cleaned out your fans and dusted off your motherboard? Have you looked at your graphics card to see if its cooling fan and fins are clean? For that matter, when did you last clean out or even opened the case? Or have you ever cleaned out your computer or had someone clean it out for you?
Well, I got a new laptop for Christmas, so never, but the answer would have been the same whether it was new or not.
14 – Organ Donor Day: Are you signed up/registered to be an organ donor? Do you regularly or occasionally donate blood?
Yes, I think it is something good you can do for a stranger, if tragedy strikes. No, I have never donated blood. I have attempted to a few times, but invariably got sick and had to cancel.
Not sure where my brain was the last couple of days, but I am caught up with the meme now. We had a mildly busy weekend. We had another show on Saturday night at the out of town theater we have a season pass to. This time it was "Hamilton." We had seen the Disney broadcast, but not the live show in person. It was fabulous! Catchy with a lot of energy. I found the stage setup and the energy reminiscent of "Jesus Christ Superstar."
We also enjoyed a lovely dinner at our favorite restaurant and then Sunday, stopped off for bagels and went to Trader Joe's, then headed home. We watched about 2 quarters of the Super Bowl (just an excuse to have nachos for dinner) and then went to bed to read and sleep, since Monday K was off to work and I was off to swimming.
