Nov. 28th, 2022 01:19 pm28. November 28 is "Red Planet Day". Do you think humans will ever get to Mars? Is this an endeavour that we should be devoting resources toward or would the money be better spent here on earth?
I am a big fan of Mary Robinette Kowal's Lady Astronaut series and I think we will eventually land there. I do think that there are way too many hurdles to ever think of being able to colonize it (unless, like in her books, we have to.)
In some ways, I believe that we should be using the resources for other things, but I think it highly unlikely they would go for important things like climate change, world hunger, etc., so why not learn something with the money instead.
