Crap...its November
Nov. 1st, 2020 07:18 am1 Who is one of your “saints”—a person who was very influential in your faith, spirituality, or life philosophy?
My saints are not people, but education and experience. I am most definitely agnostic and most probably atheist. This was not always the case. I grew up going to private Christian schools and even went to a Catholic college (not for faith, but for a certain degree.) I had observed from an early age that people did not seem to practice what they preached, so that was the first chink in my "faith." I was also somewhat scared of dying and being buried until I started taking biology labs and disecting things dead and sometimes alive, then later animal surgeries and autopsies. It made me realize (IMO) that when you die, you die. What is left is a shell, not something with awareness or feelings, so poof no more fear. I also do not believe in an afterlife; this is the life we are given and we should make the most of it.
